WALK through the process at either the Super 3 , or Big6 using your chosen topic. You can bypass the "Task Definition" step, as your topic is selected and your pursuit of information should be guided by your interest in the topic.

WRITE A 1-PAGER & Post it under your district link. Discussing your experience with either the Super 3 K-2, or Big 6 3-6 sites.
Briefly summarize your steps. Here are some focus questions to consider in your written 1 pager.

  • What are the most helpful tools on the page?
  • What might be difficult or frustrating for students?
  • What’s missing in the process?
  • Are there any tasks, or guiding questions, that would have been useful to you in your earlier education?


Connections & Reflections:


Please RESPOND to the following questions. Your total response should be between 1-2 pages (250 and 500 words). When finished, please post your written response under your district's link at the bottom of the page.

  • What do you believe to be the essential information literacy skills for elementary age students engaged in an independent research project? What barriers could there be for young students?
  • Identify your own strongest, and weakest information literacy skills? Provide examples from your life when these strengths/weaknesses revealed themselves. What would you do differently now, knowing what you know about information literacy?


Hint: Your posting should be spell-checked, double-spaced and consistent with a quality academic paper with regard to grammar, content, and organization.
